Helping YOU Through The Storm of Your Life!

What do you do when the "storm of your life" hits you full force? Whom do you go to for advice and counsel? The "storm" could be a death, divorce, job loss, health crisis, emotional breakdown, or a host of other issues. When the crisis hits, you need direction, counsel, and encouragement that will bring you through the storm of your life successfully!
My experience as a counselor, life coach, consultant, and minister has given me a unique perspective on what you really need during the difficult times of your life.
- You need to be heard and understood.
- You need to be encouraged and strengthened.
- You need to be motivated to make positive and healthy changes.
- You need to be guided in the right direction.
- You need to grow through this storm so that you can attain a higher quality of life and help others who are going through similar struggles.
- You need the experience and expertise of a qualified and gifted counselor like myself. I am not interested in being your "rent-a-friend." I want to be your personal resource to help you through the tough times, to encourage you to reach your highest goals, and to provide you with the professional resources that will benefit you, your family, or your organization.
How do I know if I need counseling?
Counseling is the process of having a professionally trained and licensed therapist listen to your concerns and issues and then offer feedback, support, and advice. Sometimes the therapy will involve listening and reflective dialogue. Sometimes it will involve more directive approaches such as guidance, advice, life-coaching, or even emergency interventions. If you feel stuck, worried, angry, frustrated, afraid, or confused, counseling may be the answer.
People seek professional counseling for a variety of reasons. These may include, but are not limited to: depression, anger management, marriage issues, parenting skills and/or problems, anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, eating disorders, self-mutilation, sexual abuse, questions of religion and faith, and career guidance. These are just some of the many reasons people seek the professional services of a therapist.
Take a moment to ask yourself if your problem or issue is serious enough for you to contact a mental health professional:
- Is my problem/issue beginning to adversely affect my relationship, job, school performance, or daily functioning? (Yes/No)
- Have I tried to deal with it on my own and found I am getting nowhere? (Yes/No)
- Are trusted family and friends suggesting I seek counseling? (Yes/No)
- Have I had a recent major life trauma (such as the death of loved one or close friend, financial setback, marital dilemma, etc.)? (Yes/No)
- Have I had a major life trauma in my past that I have never fully and completely dealt with on a therapeutic level? (Yes/No)
- Have I tried counseling with another therapist but, for whatever reason, have not been able to connect with him/her? (Yes/No)
- Am I spending a considerable amount of time each day reviewing my problem/issue and finding no ready solution? (Yes/No)
- Do I have an addiction? (Yes/No)
- Am I overly sad or depressed most of the time? (Yes/No)
- Do I have a problem with my anger/emotions? (Yes/No)
- Do I have a child, spouse, or family member that needs counseling? (Yes/No)
If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, you may want to consider counseling as your next step.
